Language Arts
Outcome: Ensure students are making sufficient progress to be on grade level in English Language Arts.
Strategy 1: Leverage MTSS Tier 1 Core resources to identify students’ literacy needs and plan and deliver targeted small group reading instruction. Imagine Language and Literacy, Lexia, and Read Naturally will be utilized for Small Group Tier 2 Instruction. Small group Tier2/Tier 3 phonics groups (grades 1-2, grades 3-4, grades 5-6) will be using Brainspring - Orton Gillingham and Read Naturally
Strategy 2: Discuss data in grade-level teams to analyze current student achievement data and create action plans to drive student success
Strategy 3: Provide targeted instruction in the area of comprehension using Rewards and/or Fundations within skill-based reading groups for grade 3 and grade 6
Mathematics
Outcome: Ensure students are making sufficient progress to be on grade level in Mathematics.
Strategy 1: Leverage Tier I Core reteaching resources (math workshop, formative classroom data, VMath and ST Math) for small group instruction for all students
Strategy 2: Implement small group instruction supplement to Tier 2/3 supports (AVMR, Do the Math and Building Fact Fluency Kits)
Strategy 3: Provide targeted instruction in students’ areas of need/growth for Tier 3 students via supplemental tutoring
Wellness
Outcome: Ensure students feel safe, included, and supported in the school environment.
Strategy 1: Provide MTSS Tier 1 evidence-based, school-wide character education and social emotional learning curriculum (Positivity Project, MTSS Common school-wide expectations, Responsive Classroom structures)
Strategy 2: Provide MTSS Tier 2 targeted student support (self-discipline, emotional regulation, and leadership skills group; peer mentor program; Best Buddy Mentor Program; Unstuck and On Target counseling groups)
Strategy 3: Implement MTSS Tier 2 Mindfulness and Movement Group
Access & Opportunity End of Year SMARTR Outcome
Goal: By the end of the 21-22 school year, student and staff communication will be representative of a diversity of viewpoints and cultures reflective of our student population.
Strategy 1: Gather data from our families to garner a better understanding of cultural and ethnic diversity within our student population.
Strategy 2: Offer opportunities for those from other countries, cultures, race, gender and/or different abilities to feel respected and honored in a World's Fair format.
Strategy 3: Purchase new books for our school and classroom libraries that honor a diversity of cultures and perspectives.
