Corey the Dribbler Visits GFES
On October 8, students in grades 5 and 6 attended an in-person, socially-distanced assembly with Corey the Dribbler while students in grades k-4 joined in virtually. Corey showed students his amazing ball-handling ability, played some games with them and taught them a few tricks while taking time to talk about how he achieved his success. What was most important? That he had a solid character.
To achieve his dream of becoming a Harlem Globe Trotter, he had to have great basketball skills, which he practiced non-stop to master. But more important to the Glob Trotters, he learned, was that he was a good person. If he hadn't been a good student and teammate, he wouldn't have reached his dream.
Students loved hearing Corey's story and seeing all his amazing basketball tricks. Thanks to the PTA for sponsoring this assembly!
